What an online backgammon club gives you

Club matches are normal online matches: the server rolls the dice, the clock runs, and you can verify every roll after the match.

How to create a club

  1. Sign up or log in — email, Google or Apple.
  2. Open Clubs and press Create a club. Give it a name and, if you like, a short description.
  3. Copy the invite link and send it to your friends in any messenger.
  4. Approve the requests as they come in — and open the first table.

Roles: owner, agents and players

RoleWhat they do
OwnerCreated the club, approves new members, appoints agents, edits the club settings.
AgentThe owner's helper: invites players with their own link and approves the people who join through it.
PlayerPlays at the club tables and appears in the club rating.

Club rating and your NARDEON rating

Matches at club tables count only toward the club rating. Your NARDEON rating and your place on the leaderboard come from rated matches against random opponents, so a friendly club evening won't move them.

A club evening, step by step

  1. Open Clubs and pick your club under My clubs.
  2. On the Tables tab press New table, choose Long or Short and the match length, then Find an opponent in the club.
  3. Your table shows up for the other members under Waiting for an opponent. Whoever presses Join sits down with you and the match starts.
  4. When it's over, the result goes into the Club rating tab — a running table of who has won how many of their club matches.

Joining from the other side is just as short: open the invite link, or press Join by ID on the Clubs page and enter the club ID. Until the request is approved the club shows as awaiting approval; after that it appears in My clubs. Members can Leave club at any time and come back later with a new request.

Who clubs are for

A club name can be 3 to 40 characters long; the description is yours to write — who plays, when you meet, any house customs.

Fair play

If something's wrong with a club — cheating, insults, anything against the site rules — any player can report it from the club page. The NARDEON team reviews every report and can freeze a club: its tables stop until the matter is resolved.

Other ways to play together

Just want one game with one friend? You don't need a club: send a room link and play straight away, even as guests. Sharing one phone or tablet? Try two players on one screen. Looking for competition beyond your circle? Check the tournaments.

FAQ

Who can create a club?

Any player with an account. One account can own up to two clubs.

How do people join my club?

Send them the club's invite link or its ID. They send a request, and you approve it as the owner (or one of your agents does).

Do club matches count toward my NARDEON rating?

No. Club matches go into the club's own rating and don't change your NARDEON rating.

Can club members play long nardy?

Yes. A club table can be backgammon (short nardy) or long nardy, with a match to 1, 3, 5 or 7 points.

Do club members need to sign up?

Yes. A club is a list of accounts, so members need an account too — email, Google or Apple.

What if a club breaks the site rules?

Any player can report a club from its page. The NARDEON team reviews reports and can freeze a club, which stops its tables.
