Long Nardy App: Android, iPhone and PC
Looking for a long backgammon app? NARDEON's long nardy runs in the browser and installs to your home screen in two taps — on Android, iPhone, tablets and computers — with no store download, no updates and no ads.

Why a web app instead of a store download
- Nothing to install. Open the site and play in seconds; add an icon to your home screen if you like.
- Always up to date. No updates to download — the latest version loads every time.
- Same game everywhere. Phone, tablet and computer, with your account and rating on all of them.
- No ads covering the board — there are none at the moment.
Install long nardy on your phone
Android (Chrome)
- Open nardeon.com in Chrome.
- Tap the ⋮ menu in the top-right corner.
- Choose Add to Home screen or Install app.
iPhone and iPad (Safari)
- Open nardeon.com in Safari.
- Tap Share — the square with an arrow.
- Choose Add to Home Screen.
Launched from the icon, the game opens in its own window, without the browser's address bar.
Long nardy on PC and Mac
On a computer just open the site in your browser; Chrome and Edge can also install it as a desktop app with its own window. Press Full screen next to the board for a bigger view (more on full screen), and play with the mouse or entirely with the keyboard (keyboard controls). See also backgammon for PC.
Your first long nardy game in the app
- Tap the icon. At the top of the lobby, switch to Long.
- Press Play now for a real opponent, or Vs computer to learn the moves without a clock.
- Tap a checker on the head — the game lights up where it can go. Remember: only one checker leaves the head per turn, except 6-6, 4-4 or 3-3 on your first move, when two may.
- Made a mistake? Undo step takes it back until you press Done.
Online, each move has 12 free seconds, then a 2-minute bank for the match. If you lose signal on the subway, you have a minute to reconnect before the match is lost.
One account on every device
Guests can play everything straight away. Sign up with email, Google or Apple, then log in once on your phone and once on your computer: your rating, match history and recorded matches are the same on both. If the game is open on two devices at once, the newer one takes over and the other shows Game open elsewhere.
What you can play
| Mode | What it is |
|---|---|
| Online | A random opponent who chose the same game and match length |
| With a friend | Send a link or a 5-character room code |
| Vs computer | Beginner, Amateur or Master — long nardy vs computer |
| Two players, one screen | Pass the phone or share a tablet |
Matches go to 1, 3, 5 or 7 points. Backgammon (short nardy) is in the same app.
Made for small screens
- On a tall phone screen the board turns to use the full height.
- One-tap moves: tap a checker and it moves by the higher die.
- Move without “Done” and Auto roll for faster games.
- Animations can be switched off on an older phone.
- Board themes — Walnut, Classic and Night.
Fair and honest
In online matches the server rolls the dice and checks every move, so the rules of long nardy — one checker off the head per turn, no hitting, no illegal six-point block — are enforced for both players. After the match you can verify every roll. The game needs an internet connection; there's no offline mode.
